Installation and maintenance
My durable products are 0.2" thick (6 mm) and very easy to install - just like regular tiles, using about 0.18" (3 mm) grout. Moreover, the maintenance is not a problem. Use 1/2 cup of liquid dishwashing detergent and 2 cups of warm water or mild soap solution. Use a soft cloth or rag, not an abrasive sponge, nor a pad. When cleaning the tile's surface, wipe it gently then rinse the cloth or rag with warm water. Wipe the tile's surface until you make sure that any soap or dishwashing detergent residue is removed. Then dry the surface with a soft cloth or a rag.
Handcrafted Metal Tile Mural: The Majestic Lion's Roar
Introduction:
From the renowned collection of Leon's Etsy shop comes a symbol of pride, strength, and nobility—the Majestic Lion's Roar. This handcrafted 13-tile mural serves as both a decorative masterpiece and a profound cultural statement. Crafted with passion and precision, the mural embodies the spirit of the lion, a creature revered throughout history for its unparalleled bravery and regal elegance. As with all of Leon's creations, this is a unique piece, one that tells a story, reflecting the values of courage and leadership that lions symbolize.
Features & Details:
1. Central Emblem of Power: The heart of this tile mural features the head of a lion, its mane roaring in a silent symphony of might and beauty. This magnificent depiction does not merely represent the lion; it stands as a symbol of authority, courage, and wisdom.
2. Ornate Peripheral Design: Surrounding this central image is a sequence of 12 tiles that create a compelling ornament. While eight of the tiles are intentionally blank to offer a visual resting place and emphasize the lion's magnificence, the remaining four, positioned at each corner, are embossed with a lion's paw pattern, capturing the essence of the lion's path and its indelible mark on the world.
3. Choice of Timeless Metals: Whether it's the warm allure of copper, the classic charm of brass, or the sleek appeal of stainless steel, each choice adds a unique narrative to this artwork. The choice of metal contributes not only to aesthetics but to the broader theme that this artwork represents.
4. Artful Patina and Protective Wax: The use of patina adds depth and character to the tiles, enhancing the intricate patterns. Meanwhile, a special wax coating ensures that the mural remains untarnished, preserving the intricate details that make each tile a masterpiece.
5. Versatility in Placement:** These tiles, though rich in symbolism and artistry, are designed for versatility. They can enhance the aesthetics of a kitchen backsplash, bring character to a bathroom, or serve as a central piece in a living room. The possibilities are limitless.
The Symbolism of the Lion:
The lion, often regarded as the "King of Beasts," holds a special place in various cultures and traditions. Its strength, courage, and majestic presence have made it a symbol of royalty and stateliness. In ancient Egypt, the lion was associated with the war goddess Sekhmet. In Greco-Roman tradition, it was associated with love and power.
In African cultures, the lion symbolizes strength, patience, and wisdom. Its roar is considered to communicate with the divine, sending messages between the earthly realm and the spiritual world.
Even in modern popular culture, the lion remains a symbol of leadership, bravery, and honor. Its image adorns flags, coats of arms, and is often used in literature and film to represent noble characters.
Conclusion:
Leon's 13-tile mural, The Majestic Lion's Roar, is not just a piece of decoration; it is an artistic tribute to one of nature's most remarkable creatures. This mural, crafted with care and love, transcends its physical form to become a symbol of what it means to be noble, courageous, and wise. It carries with it the rich history of human interaction with the wild, and the respect and reverence that the lion has commanded through the ages.
To own this piece is to welcome into your home a symbol of dignity, a piece of art that resonates with the very essence of humanity's shared values. Let it stand as a reminder of your inner strength, a testament to human artistry, and a beacon of inspiration for all who gaze upon it.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the tiles made of?
All my tiles are made of 100% real copper. It is not painted plastic or other copper-colored material that you can see from other manufacturers. I also offer tiles made of 100% brass and stainless steel.
What are the tiles covered with?
The tiles are covered with patina - a protective liner against corrosion and another side effects which metals are exposed to. In some cases, copper can turn green. This process is natural and it might be avoided by adding acrylic finish on the top of the metal. However, UV sun exposure will break down the finish after some time. This is why we don't recommend acrylic topping.
What is the average lead time?
All of my art pieces are handmade and custom, therefore the lead time may be 7 up to 17 days. In exceptional circumstances (i.e. very large, customized tile) the waiting time can be even longer. The customer will be informed about the extended lead time right away.
Can I order the tile (or tiles) in a custom size?
Yes, of course. Customers decide about the sizes of the tiles I make. Please contact me and specify which size would satisfy you.
Can you create custom-designed pieces?
Yes. My experience qualifies me to embody custom designs. I can make any pattern which my customer would like. Moreover, I can change/add a writing (for instance an important date, name or something sentimental, personal). Should you be interested in a custom-designed piece, please contact me directly so that we can discuss the details
